The Health Care Surveillance Authority acts as liaison body for benefits in kind under the Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the coordination of social security systems and the Regulation (EC) No 987/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on laying down the procedure for implanting Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems (hereinafter “Regulations”). This responsibility is also reflected in the Act No. 581/2004 Coll. on health insurance companies, healthcare supervision and on the amendment and supplementing of certain laws, as amended, Article 18.
When being provided with the health care under the Regulations below mentioned entitlement documents can be used by insured persons.

The health care provided under the Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare
In October 2013 the Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare was implemented in the Slovak legal provisions. Based on this fact, the Health Care Surveillance Authority started to act also as a contact point. This responsibility is also reflected in the Act No. 581/2004 Coll. on health insurance companies, healthcare supervision and on the amendment and supplementing of certain laws, as amended, Article 18.
